What is MRD?

Measurable (or minimal) residual disease (MRD) refers to the small number of cancer cells that may remain in the body during and after treatment.1

Even if your child is responding well to treatment or is in remission, MRD can be present at such low levels that it doesn’t cause any physical signs or symptoms, which may be a sign of recurrence.1

When it comes to treating blood cancer, your doctor’s ability to detect these traces of disease may be important for making timely and informed decisions about your treatment plan.1-5

Measuring MRD with clonoSEQ

ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) in children can change often, so it requires keeping a close eye on your child’s MRD status. Knowing if any residual cancer is present will allow you and your child’s doctor to take action immediately.
